About Yishan Nicky Fu

Hello, my name is Yishan Fu, and I go by Nicky. I was born and raised in Taiwan. Here is a place where I share my creations with different media.

I like to draw and create beautiful things since I was little, so I went to an art high school naturally. In the school, I learned how to use a lot of different media with various drawing techniques to create and express my own vision and thoughts.However, I feel art is not something that everyone can approach easily in daily bases.  For a while, I started to think what is the easiest and closest way for me to show my aesthetic to the world, and I found my answer in Fashion Design. I like the way that garments make people feel being supported. I feel that dressing is another way to express yourself without any words. It is a very direct and  instinctive expression. However, on the other hand, it’s also like a metaphor, and everyone sees from a different perspective. I usually get my inspiration from things and objects around me. Sometimes, it starts with colors or images surrounded by a story in my mind. Because I’m also a painter, so I’m really sensitive with images rather than words.

I have few experiences as a dresser at the backstage in New York fashion week and Taipei fashion week. Also, I did few internships during school years. I learned a lot of hand sewing techniques, pattern design, and model fitting and production process. It was a very interesting and precious experience for me.
